The I survived the attack on pearl harbor novel is a good novel because it gives a first person perspective on what went down during the attack. The setting takes place on the island of hawaii, Pearl harbor.

I recently read Cane Warriors by Alex Wheatle. I love historical fiction because, through a good story, you can learn a lot about history. Cane Warriors tells the story of Moa, a 14-year-old boy who participates in a slave rebellion in Jamaica in 1760. Moa struggles with whether to participate in the rebellion but he concludes that living the life of a slave on a sugar cane plantation is not really a life. Moa's story is gut-wrenching. He is brave in spite of his fear. Read or listen to Cane Warriors!
