Prairie Point is participating in the Global Read Aloud again this year. We are reading the book The Barren Grounds by David A. Robertson.

We have plans to connect with other students reading this same book in Canada & the United States.

Please join us every morning before school (7:30 - 7:45) in the Library. If you miss a day, you can keep up with the story here (you must be logged into your Prairie account to access the recordings). Please contact Mrs. Wilding if you have questions.

Sora provides the quickest and easiest way to get started with digital titles from the Point Library. You can simply log in using Prairie credentials and instantly access hundreds of eBooks and audiobooks on virtually any device.

And now, you can access MAGAZINES through the same app!

We have access to 49 magazines that will appeal to teens for leisure reading but can also be used by you for instruction. All magazines are unlimited simultaneous access so your whole class can access a single issue at the same time.

The magazine collection spans a wide range of subject areas, interests, and reading levels. There are even a few titles in Spanish. Check 'em out!

Hello Point Students - Welcome back to school! We challenge you to read as many books as you can this school year. Set a goal for yourself and strive to meet it. The 8th Grade Black Team has challenged its students to read 25 books. Can you meet that challenge too?

Stay motivated and track your progress by creating a Destiny Collection of all the books you read this year. Here's a link to Mrs. Wilding's collection. Ask her how you can build a collection too.

We are celebrating Black History Month+ at the library for the rest of February and beyond. Soon you will see an art exhibit popping up in the library windows. And you can checkout the online and in-person displays celebrating Black folks through books in the library collection.

AND, on March 2 we will recognize Read Across America day by hosting a day-long presentation of readings, poems, stories, readers' theatre plays & more which recognize & celebrate Black identity in our school & world. Stay tuned for more details. If you are a Point student or staff member and would like to participate, see Mrs. Wilding in the library.

It seems odd to welcome Kristi Nove to Point because she has been a part of the staff for many years. But starting tomorrow, Kristi will be working in the library as the Library Paraprofessional. Please help me welcome Kristi to the Point Library team!

This year's makerspace days are strictly grab-n-go! Swing by the library to pick up a kit that includes everything you need to make a macrame keychain, a needlepoint ornament or magnet, or a beautiful origami creation with an accompanying hand-lettered poem. While supplies last!

And, for your viewing pleasure, here's a throwback to last year when we could all gather in the library to make stuff. Let's all stay safe and well and look forward to a better year next year! Happy Holidays everyone!
