We have access to the Books and Authors database for a short time. You can use this database to find information about books and to search for your next book to read. You can search the database by author, title, genre, setting, character, and much more. You can focus in on books for young adults. Use the database to find books similar to books you have loved in the past.

While working on a new "Beyond Google" web page, I spent some time exploring a new (to me) search engine called WolframAlpha. it is a great search engine for anything related to numbers. Have fun exploring and thinking of useful classroom applications. Check out the widgets page. You can embed these widgets in your class websites and blogs. There's something here for every discipline. See the example below. I used it to determine that I burned 246 calories on my morning walk which is equivalent to 17 minutes of the butterfly stroke -- I think I'd rather walk!
